There are four types of vultures.
-Águila Real
-It has a dark brown plumage that turns golden in the proximity of the head and white on the neck,
shoulders and tail.
- The white plumage of the latter predominates in young specimens, which with the passage of time becomes darker.
-The laying usually occurs between January and March and consists of one or two eggs which are incubated mostly by the female for 45 days until the time of hatching.
- Buitre Leonado
-The adult birds have a general grayish-brown coloration, with the dorsal regions somewhat paler, in contrast to the dark rays, while the ventral ones are of brown tones and can appear subtly listed with a lighter shade. The juveniles, on the other hand, are reddish brown, darker than in adults, and have a plumage composed of lanceolate feathers with thin clear streaks, which are progressively renewed by others with a rounded profile.
-They measure three meters in span, and fly seventy kilometers an hour.
-Buitre Negro
-The plumage is preferably black, dotted with dark brown on the back
-Both sexes have identical plumage and at first sight it is not possible to distinguish which sex belongs to the point of having to perform analyzes to know if it is male or female.
CENTRO INTERPRETACION DE LA CASA DE LOS BUITRES
In Santa Cilia de Panzano there is a bird observatory, next to the municipal park. The Interpretation Center La Casa de los Buitres located in the bell tower of the church, has different video cameras that allow you to see the feeders of vultures, lammergeyer, Egyptian vulture, eagle and griffon vulture.
